Note: This course is for California clinicians only. Non-California clinicians, click here to enroll in our Medical Ethics and Professionalism (ME-22) course.

Designed specifically for California licensees, this comprehensive course addresses and remediates issues rooted in lack of adherence to laws, rules, guidelines, codes, or policies. Participants arrive at the seminar primed by the pre-course readings, assignments, and self-assessment exercises—springboards for the process of introspection and self-critique. During the course, participants examine how and why their professional practices, responses to stress, and personal or situational factors initially put them at risk for exercising poor judgment or rationalizing improper behavior. During the course, each participant develops a Personalized Protection Plan©, an action plan they will implement to prevent future lapses in judgement. Participants present their plan at the conclusion of the course as their final oral examination to the faculty and class in a peer-review format.

California Medical Board approved to meet the Title 16, California Code of Regulations (CCR) section 1358.1 requirements.

PBI is committed to providing interactive, individualized, impactful education. To facilitate this, our Medical Ethics (ME-22 CA) course size is limited to 12 participants.

  • "This course was fantastic and the faculty did a BRILLIANT job in managing and conducting the course. I loved the virtual aspect of it which made me pay attention 100% throughout the course by seeing all the participants and the instructor right in front of my eyes at all times. I could have not asked for any better educational experience than this. Phenomenal job. "

  • "I was not happy about being required to take this course. With that being said, I am pleased that I did. I initially thought that I was going to be subjected to endless slide presentations and case studies. Hearing everyone's story and reflections on their reasons for attending were perhaps the best part of the experience. The faculty was awesome, treated everyone with respect and was very knowledgeable about the subject matter. "
