National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Presentation Spotlight

PBI Education Medical Director Catherine V. Caldicott will present on “Remediation Intervention in Disciplinary Action” at the NCSBN 2025 Discipline Case Management Conference in Sonoma, California, on Tuesday, April 29.

This presentation will describe the who, what, why, when, and how of intensive educational interventions for nurses who have committed a professional infraction. With a peek inside the classroom, attendees will learn about the remediation experience from the perspective of the referring regulator, the licensee participant, and the course faculty. They will leave with a set of criteria by which to judge a reputable remedial course, a better understanding of reasons for swift educational intervention, and an appreciation for restorative processes that can prevent recidivism.
