Cancellation and refunds
If you are taking a course to satisfy a board order, employer requirement, or at the recommendation of an attorney or other referrer, PBI URGES you to get the course pre-approved and confirm your course date PRIOR to registration. Many boards/regulatory agencies can pre-approve a course with the submission of the course agenda found on each course’s registration page.
Once course material has been made available to a course participant OR any course instruction has been rendered, the MAXIMUM REFUND provided is fifty-percent (50%) of the course fee.
NO REFUNDS are provided for LIVE courses unless notification of cancellation is received at least ninety (90) days prior to the first day of the commencement of the originally scheduled live event. All notifications of cancellation must be made in writing, by email or fax. PBI may, at its discretion, allow payments that would otherwise not be refunded to be applied to registration in a future event.
NO REFUNDS are provided for ONLINE and TELECONFERENCE courses. PBI may, at its discretion, allow online or teleconference fees that would otherwise not be refunded to be applied to the registration of another course.
NO REFUNDS are provided for registrations placed from outside the US or Canada.
Credit card refunds may only be applied to the credit card with which the order was placed. All refunds or transfers of any kind are subject to a 5% transaction fee.
If you are not a healthcare professional but you would like to attend a particular course, you will need to seek written approval from PBI prior to registration. Please be transparent with your intentions and reasons for taking this particular course. PBI has the right of refusal. PBI is not responsible for any additional expenses (e.g., hotel, travel, rentals) incurred without written approval from PBI. Moreover, NO REFUNDS are provided to non-healthcare professional attendees.
Course date transfer requests
Live course dates are considered final and confirmed at the time of registration. PBI makes no guarantees that transfer requests will be accepted, so please confirm the course date(s) with your schedule before registering.
NO TRANSFERS are allowed unless notification of transfer request is received in writing AND approved by PBI staff at least ninety (90) days prior to the first day of the commencement of the originally scheduled live event. PBI may, at its discretion, allow transfers less than 90 days from the live course, depending upon course seat availability. All transfers of any kind are subject to a 5% transaction fee. Participants are allowed a maximum of one date transfer.
PBI reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any event due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient registration, and PBI will refund fees for any cancelled event. Upon your request, PBI will also refund fees if the event is rescheduled or location is changed, and you must cancel your registration due to the change. PBI shall have no further liability.
Course credit and participation
Partial attendance for any reason of any course is not allowed. If you register for a course and only attend partially, we may withhold your certificate of completion and will not issue you a refund. Participants must attend their course each day from start to finish in order to receive credit. Due to the nature of our courses and with respect to participants confidentiality, even if you are attending a course to observe, you must remain for the duration of the program or you may be asked to leave without a refund.
Participants in live courses are responsible for signing in promptly at the start of the class, immediately after lunch each day, and for completing the final course evaluation to ensure their attendance is accounted for. Please check the course agenda for your course start and end time when booking flights. For most live courses, PBI recommends arriving the day prior to your course start date and not booking a return flight until after 7:00pm on the final day.
If a participant arrives late or leaves early, for whatever reason and at any point in time that the course is in session, the Course Director may place a block on the participant’s Certificate of Completion. If a certificate is blocked, the Course Director and the participant will discuss a plan for making up the lost time in class, either through make-up assignments, completing pre-course assignments, and/or additional teleconference course hours. Upon the successful completion of the additional assignments, pre-course assignments, and/or teleconference hours, the participant’s Certificate of Completion will be released.
If the missed time in class is significant, the attendee will be required to pay for and repeat the course entirely.
Participants are expected to be respectful of the other members of their class. If a participant is exhibiting disruptive behavior, they will be asked to leave and may be responsible to repeat the course if signifigant course time is lost at their own expense. Disruptive behavior may include, but is not limited to the following: rude comments, making or accepting calls during class, harassing other participants or the instructor, bringing children or pets to the course (with the exception of registered service pets, with documentation), etc.
Online and teleconference courses
Attendees shall complete all teleconference courses within eight (8) months of the date of their registration. Online courses have varying lengths of time available for completion. If an attendee does not complete the course within the specified time frame, then the course registration will expire and no refund will be granted. If the attendee contacts PBI and wishes to continue and complete the course, they will be required to re-register and pay the full registration fee again. It is the responsibility of the attendee to complete the course within the specified time. PBI is not responsible for reminding attendees to complete assignments or finish their course in a timely manner.
If you make a purchase from PBI using a credit card or PayPal account in another persons name you will need to get this person’s permission. If you use someone else’s card without permission, PBI will consider this transaction fraudulent. PBI has zero tolerance for fraud and retains the right to report fraudulent actions to the proper authorities including regulatory agencies and professional schools. PBI will not be held not responsible for any legal or disciplinary action taken by regulatory agencies. PBI reserves the right to decline a registrant from all future courses.
Taking a course with a relative or significant other
Unless authorized by PBI Education staff, taking a course with a relative or significant other is generally not allowed. Due to the confidential and sensitive nature of some courses, existing personal relationships with other participants can compromise the quality of the education. Please contact our staff at 904-800-1237 to discuss this policy if you wish to take a course with a relative or significant other.
